More Than a Little Peeved [UPDATED!]
March 3, 2008

So, I’m kinda just sitting here at one of the desktops at work.
I’m slightly irritated. Or… maybe a little more than slightly and I’m just being too stubborn to admit.
Last night, my MacBook Pro crashed on me for the second time. The first time, I was able to fix it using different troubleshooting options, and the most advanced option happened to work. This second time, nothing’s working. Now, my MacBook is on the desk, I’m running a Mac OS X installation while crossing my fingers that I don’t lose any data when it archives. If I do lose anything, I hope it’s not anything important enough that I don’t realize it’s disapperance.
I’m so good with computers and technology, but I have suck bad luck. I’m the person that gets a computer, takes good care of it, keeps it up-to-date, make sure nothing’s up, but then I get the incurable virus that kills it before I can say “Support?”.
I dunno, I’ve had a run of horrible luck when I purchased my MacBook Pro for the first time. (Mind you this is my SECOND MacBook. The first one had to be returned in exchange for the one I currently have with me… yes, the dying one to my right). I can’t imagine this one forcing me to lose all of my work. I’d be so upset if I had to lose all of the art and designs I’ve done in the past year. That’s just asking for a break down from me. Prepare for the long rant in the history of blogging, lol.
My laptop is currently in the middle of the installation process. It’s actually at the window is froze at last time – last time being about 30 minutes ago. Yeah, it seems like this situation is already making a slow start into a downward spiral. I can feel it now. It’s not comfortable at all. Am I just being melodramatic? I’m just being melodramatic.
I’m so used to losing artwork it’s probably not even funny anymore. I guess this will probably be one of my biggest losses. That’s just a risk you take when you do digital art to begin with. I can’t even trust an external hdd. Oy vey. …It doesn’t seem to be working. It just had another error in the middle of the installation. Why is this happening?! ARGHHAGAHAG!
Ok…. OK…. This is really ridiculous. Is there any way for me to take what I need off the hard drive and transfer is to an external from the Disk Utility? ANY way whatsoever? Because it’s starting to look like my only option. It doesn’t seem like my laptop wants to reinstall it’s own operating system leaving me the only choice to erase and install. I don’t think erasing anything is part of my agenda.
I do not think this is fixable here. Although I would very much love to do this in the comfort of my own home. Ok, if this third installation doesn’t work, I’m gonna wait ’til I get my paycheck and I’m heading home and grabbing a bunch of DVD-Rs and try to back all my crap up and then do an Erase-and-Install. It’s probably gonna hurt. But it’s the best for my laptop.
*sigh*
At the moment, I’m messing with MS Paint. I can’t believe I’m trying to use the curve tool like it’s a vector pen… LOL. This shows you the last time I’ve even laid hands on it. I remember how fun this program used to be. My cousin Jad and I used do some crazy drawings on here (taking into full consideration that we were really into Anime waaay wayyyyyyy back in the day). Fun times. I’m trying to draw up something right now. Let’s see how good of a job I can do… hahahha!
Well, I just ran the installation for the 3rd time. It didn’t work.
Time to play dirty with this thing. I have to save my data somehow!
Be right back!
[UPDATED! 6:36PM]
OK! I found a way to backup my harddrive via Disk Utility! But it’s probably gonna take about 4 hours!
ZOMG…. -_-”
